I am a 14 year old homeschooled entrepreneur who loves to bake and cook. My passion for sourdough has only grown since being introduced to it by a good friend. Unlike other baking, perfecting sourdough bread is a years long process and I have spent countless hours in the kitchen doing just that. I would be remiss if I did not give a shoutout to the one who makes this all possible--Mr. Bubbles my awesome sourdough starter. Just like any star of the show he is very well taken of. When I am not attending to Mr. Bubble's strong appetite, I enjoy reading books, playing baseball and beating up my brother--just kidding, it's all friendly combat (until he nabs a cookie I just made!), plus he's bigger than me.
Meet Brooks, AKA The Pretzel Maker. Brooks officially joined our team when his sheer talent for handcrafting delicious, slow-fermented pretzels became too big for the kitchen to ignore. He handles everything from helping feed our star sourdough starter, Mr. Bubbles, to meticulously hand-twisting each pretzel dough strand into a beautiful, golden masterpiece. He is a true culinary artist from baking to packaging. When he isn't busy perfecting his dough craft or engaging in a little friendly brotherly combat, he is busy helping his brother run the bakery-- and "occasionally" swiping a few freshly baked cookies when Barrett isn’t looking. Brooks also proudly claims the title of being one of the three absolute BEST brothers in the entire world.
Abby joins our team to fill a much-needed role as Head of Quality Control, Lead Taste Tester, Food Critic, and Highly Discerning Product Approver. Her strong opinions and complete lack of restraint when delivering feedback make her the perfect person for the job. With a keen sense of taste and aesthetics, she ensures only top-quality artisan goods ever leave the Barrett's Bread kitchen. When she is not inspecting our bakes for absolute perfection, Abby can be found reading a 500-page book with a cat (or two, or six) in her lap, or stepping in to referee friendly brotherly combat between Barrett and Brooks. As hard as her words are to hear at times, we are truly grateful for such a valuable addition to our team—especially since she also happens to be officially ranked as the absolute best sister in the entire world (and conveniently, our only one).
